Title Market Area Controller
Location Louisville, KY
Primary Duties

The Market Area (MA) Controller works closely with the MA VP, Corporate Controller, and CFO to ensure the administrative support and financial assessment of the Market. The MA Controller serves as a key member of the Market Leadership Team and participates in all financial, operational, and administrative decisions.


Responsibilities: Core responsibilities are divided into the following job functions to support the business:


  • Conducts P & L review, by month, by profit center
  • Ensures accurate month to date P&L updates, daily, by profit center
  • Accounts for all inter-plant / inter-profit center material transfers
  • Generates purchase settlements for review and correction
  • Compares actual to forecasted performance for existing profit centers

Operations Analysis

  • Acts as a collaborative business partner for the MA VP by identifying and analyzing potential business opportunities.
  • Creates proformas and costs analysis for evaluating and modeling opportunities
  • Produces financial forecasts and analysis of current business units and start-up initiatives.


  • Addresses customer service issues and requests such as weights, history, etc.
  • Acts as the key liaison for market specific insurance, workmen’s compensation, and legal affairs.
  • Ensures proper regulatory reporting (property taxes, municipal reporting, etc.).
  • Supervises administrative personnel at multiple sites in the market.
  • Coordinates human resource functions in local market.
  • Compiles bid calculations and submittals.

Job Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 10 + years of administrative and accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing or production related industry.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word).
  • Travel Expectations: 5%

$65,000- $70,000 salary with benefits
